The AirBoss M96 Cartridge is a mechanically based filter that uses activated, impregnated carbon to provide broad-spectrum protection against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats. Designed for operational readiness and compatibility with AirBoss respirators, this cartridge is compact yet robust.

The M96 Cartridge is compatible with all AirBoss respirators and PAPR systems.

What does the M96 CE protect against?

The filter is certified to EN 14387 A2B2E2K1SXP3 D R, providing protection against organic vapors, inorganic gases, acid gases, ammonia, specific listed agents (including hydrogen cyanide, cyanogen chloride, phosgene, and riot control agents like CS and CN), and P3-level particulates including biological agents and radiological particles.

Is the M96 CE NIOSH CBRN certified?

No. The M96 CE is certified under the European CE 0598 / EN 14387 framework in compliance with PPE directive 89/686/EEC. It is not a NIOSH CBRN-certified filter.

What is the shelf life?

All filters ship with at least a 5 year shelf life in the original foil-sealed packaging. Once the seal is broken, service life depends on use conditions and exposure.

What does the "D" and "R" designation mean in the certification?

"D" indicates the filter has passed the dolomite dust clogging test (a durability indicator for particulate filters). "R" indicates the particulate filter is reusable across multiple shifts.

How should the filter be stored?

In original foil-sealed packaging, in dry conditions at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and chemical exposure.

Can it be used in oxygen-deficient environments?

No. Like all air-purifying filters, the M96 CE requires a normal atmospheric oxygen level (typically ≥19.5%) and cannot be used in IDLH or oxygen-deficient environments.

Is it normal for the filter to be "dusty"?

Yes, when you remove the filter from the sealed foil bag it is normal for there to be carbon residue on the filter. It is also normal for carbon dust to escape the filter if it is shaken or dropped. This is expected and does not impact the performance of the filter.
